Sausage Stroganoff

Ingredients (serves 4)
4 portions of rice (or another grain of your choice)
550 g (about 1.2 lbs) of Falukorv (a Swedish sausage) or chicken sausage
1 yellow onion
1 tablespoon oil
3 tablespoons tomato paste
250 ml (1 cup) cooking cream
100 ml (about ½ cup) milk
1 tablespoon Japanese soy sauce
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
Black pepper
Salt (to taste)
Instructions
Cut the sausage into sticks. Peel and finely chop the onion.
Heat the oil in a frying pan. Fry the sausage and onion for about 5 minutes.
Add the tomato paste and let it cook for another minute.
Stir in the cream, milk, soy sauce, and Dijon mustard. Let the stroganoff simmer for about 5 minutes.
Season with black pepper and a little salt, if needed.
Serving suggestion
Serve the sausage stroganoff with rice and a simple salad on the side. A crunchy white cabbage salad or a fresh tomato and cucumber salad goes especially well with it.
