Ingredients (serves 4)

  • 4 portions of rice (or another grain of your choice)

  • 550 g (about 1.2 lbs) of Falukorv (a Swedish sausage) or chicken sausage

  • 1 yellow onion

  • 1 tablespoon oil

  • 3 tablespoons tomato paste

  • 250 ml (1 cup) cooking cream

  • 100 ml (about ½ cup) milk

  • 1 tablespoon Japanese soy sauce

  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard

  • Black pepper

  • Salt (to taste)

Instructions

  1. Cut the sausage into sticks. Peel and finely chop the onion.

  2. Heat the oil in a frying pan. Fry the sausage and onion for about 5 minutes.

  3. Add the tomato paste and let it cook for another minute.

  4. Stir in the cream, milk, soy sauce, and Dijon mustard. Let the stroganoff simmer for about 5 minutes.

  5. Season with black pepper and a little salt, if needed.

Serving suggestion

Serve the sausage stroganoff with rice and a simple salad on the side. A crunchy white cabbage salad or a fresh tomato and cucumber salad goes especially well with it.
